Bio
Dr. Martin is a Lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast with over 15 years of experience in higher education.
He has served in various academic and leadership roles, including Senior Lecturer, Acting Head of Department, Programme Director, External Examiner, and Editorial Board Member for Nature – Scientific Reports. His scholarly output includes over 65 peer reviewed publications presented at international journals and conferences, with a focus on global and Caribbean challenges in the built environment.
Dr. Hector’s research interests span construction project management, health and safety, sustainability,
and engineering education. He is committed to advancing knowledge and practice in these areas through
both academic inquiry and industry collaboration.
He is the Co-founder and former Technical Director of Morain & Martin LLC, where he led multidisciplinary
teams and developed technical strategies for diverse public and private sector clients.
Dr. Hector holds a PhD in Construction Management and is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Chartered Engineer in the UK, and a Registered Engineer in Trinidad and Tobago. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of ASCE and ICE.
